Resources

Architects Declare is a community of designers committed to developing and sharing knowledge, experience, and the will to design a regenerative future.

We must work to address the climate crisis with every project.

Decarbonization Resources

At US Architects Declare, we believe that decarbonization is a human rights issue. Architects have enormous power to dramatically drive down global carbon emissions, and deliver more resilient, healthy, and equitable outcomes. So far the profession has largely forfeited that power, and architects continue to produce buildings that perpetuate the crisis we face. If the building industry is to change, architects must lead. The time for that is now.

This guide was developed by the USAD Carbon Working Group to support architects in taking action on their projects. Whether you are new to the topic or a pro, there is something in this resource guide for everyone.

US Architects Declare

2021 Signatory Survey

In April 2021, US Architects Declare’s first anniversary, the Steering Committee sent out a survey to all 384 signatory firms with an invitation to answer questions relating to their practices, the Declaration, and Declare as an organizing body. The following text is a summary of responses from representatives of 55 signatory firms, 11% of total firms. Responses to the survey were staggered, as 41 signatories responded by the initial deadline of June 1st and additional practices responded by June 17th. The survey provided valuable information on the demographics of the signatories, how they are acting on the Declaration principles, and how the organization can better support this work.
