Adaptive Futures: St. Ann’s Warehouse

St Ann's Warehouse is a presenting flexible theater venue on the Brooklyn waterfront that repurposed and enclosed a pre-civil war brick shell inserting a steel structure system to hang a universal system of catwalks, light positions and mechanicals. Jonathan Marvel well discuss the exciting adaptive reuse project in the heart of DUMBO, Brooklyn.

Born in Puerto Rico, Jonathan Marvel is an architect and urban designer with over 30 years of experience in architectural planning, community development, and sustainable design for various institutions and mixed-use projects. As Founding Principal of Marvel Architects, he leads offices in New York and San Juan. A distinguished Dartmouth College and Harvard Graduate School of Design alumnus, he teaches at Pratt Institute and has served as an adjunct professor at several universities. In 2017, Jonathan co-founded Resilient Power Puerto Rico and has since spoken on the island’s needs at various events. He is the recipient of national and international design awards including a 2019 Presidential Citation from the American Institute of Architects and being named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People of 2019, and serves on multiple boards and committees.
